Several years ago radio legend Nick Erby created a record company
called NFS (not for sale).
For those not in the music business each month NFS release an
album with usually 20 tracks and this is distributed to radio
stations and the media in general. The album covers the latest
single release’s from a variety of country artists, but
this service is used by Independent artists as a means of getting
their work into the market place. Several years ago the business
was taken over by Mike Smith and has gone from strength to strength.
Why am I telling you this?
Well this month will see the release of album # 100 a milestone
for the industry and I would like to had my congratulations to
Mike Smith and of course Nick Erby for providing this service
especially to Independent artists. Over the years Mike has provided
valuable assistance to Independent and emerging artists and through
this assistance they have gone on to bigger and better things.
When you tune into to your local country music radio station
in Australia you won’t be listening for too long before
hearing a track from an NFS record.
Once again congratulations and a job well done Mike and of course
Nick and may this valuable service to our industry continues for
another 100 editions.
