Not much news this weekend because all eyes are on The Mildura
Festival.
For Independent artists Mildura is possibly more important than
Tamworth, plus it is a better option I think for country music
enthusiasts.
Firstly most of the events during the 10 days are free and there
are so many great ‘Indie’ artists to choose from.
Secondly the Independent awards are more important to country
music artists competing against the established artists and record
company’s.
Festival organiser John Arnold is dedicated to fitting as many
Independents into venues throughout Mildura that he can.
As this edition of Capers is posted the big question on every
one’s lips is , who are the winners going to be. The list
of final nominations is wide and varied and not quite as stereotyped
as Tamworth’s Golden Guitars.
Good Luck once again to all of Australia’s great Independent
artists.
Our good wishes also go out to all the entrants in Queensland’s
Champion of Champions competition which will be staged at Kedron
Wavell Services Club, Brisbane on the weekend of November 12 &
13.
Country Capers is available in the Ipswich Advertiser and countrycapers.com.au
